Well we have spent the week recovering from our extremely busy time searching for clues, coding, getting Mr Dacey back and arresting Mr E. (With the help of South Wales Police) The video of what happened on the last day has been seen by lots of visitors on our YouTube channel. But what about the rest of the week? Well, click on the link below, sit back and enjoy the adventure we had. Oh! and what an adventure it was! When you have watched it, why not give us some feedback on the form below. we would love to hear your views.

Yesterday we successfully helped the 23rd doctor retrieve his sonic screwdriver from the evil Mr E who turned out to be the Dalek Sec. Have a look at the rough draft of the video of what happened yesterday. Today was one of those days that we are going to remember for a very long time! It began with the disappearance of the TARDIS. Bryn Primary School visited us and we had one last challenge - to decode the 'Keyed Diagrammatical Substitution Cipher'. We worked really hard and managed to find out that we were to go to the lake. The last letter was 'D' and when we added it to the others and rearranged them it spelt 'DALEK'. We walked down the lake to find the TARDIS on one side of the lake. Well that was the beginning of the story. We then saw Dalek Sec running out of the TARDIS followed by the 23rd Doctor. They were running around the lake and the Dalek Sec had the sonic screwdriver. We watched as the 23rd doctor battled with Dalek Sec and managed to get the sonic screwdriver. He made sure that the Dalek Sec could not move and then the police came and arrested him. They took him away in the police van. Have a look at a small part of our video and see what you think! When we thought it was all over, a dalek came too and the doctor disarmed him. With the help of the police, the dalek was arrested and taken away too. We were all so happy that we had solved the crime. We think that after all that hard work that we need a week off school!
23rd Doctor begins our web questToday the 23rd Doctor asked him to help us with a journey through time and space. He had found a QR code which led us to a web quest. We all had to work really hard to answer questions about Cwmclydach, Bryn and Doctor Who. We did really well and on the history quiz we got 8 out of 8 and beat year 6! Where did the webquest lead?So now we have four letters, L A K E which we believe will lead us to our lake in Clydach. So Bryn are on their way to visit us and hopefully tomorrow we will be able to find Mr E, recover the sonic screwdriver and restore peace to Clydach. Wish us luck!
You are not going to believe what happened today! Mr Dacey went missing. The evil Mr E. took Mr Dacey and Mr Morgan from Bryn school. We had to work with the 23rd Doctor to try to work out co-ordinates on an excel spreadsheet so we could find a code which would unlock the transporter to get sir back. Have a look at the video we received this morning. We worked really hard and as fast as we could so we could try to get sir back. The 23rd doctor was in a darkened room in the TARDIS and we had to navigate him through a series of trapdoors. We had to locate keys and clues to the letters for the day. But we did it! Mr Dacey came back safe and sound. We were all very glad when he came back.
Well today began with a video. Take a look. The doctor challenged us to try to solve the mathematical problems. We began by looking at suduko puzzles but when we had the numbers we then had to turn it into letters so we could add them to the url. We worked really hard and managed to get them. Then we had a Caesarian Shift Cipher and a columnar transposition cipher to work out. The ciphers were really challenging but we got there in the end. Some of the year six pupils worked on programming skills and began to learn a new programming language called Python. Here is an example of their work. They were making a Magic 8 Ball game to develop their coding skills. We had to find the two letters which was at a grid reference. The letters were in B4 which on the map was located at the Castle area of the Junior Department. We spoke to Bryn School and they had uncovered their letters too. We now are wondering what is going to happen tomorrow??
Where do we start? Well today began like any other day. We were just beginning our mathematics lesson when Mr Dacey came in to class and explained that a crime had been committed in our school. IN OUR SCHOOL!!!!Well we did not know what it was and started to think about what could have happened. Mr Dacey went to get year six to help. Sir had received a video from the 23rd Doctor who showed us some CCTV and explained that his sonic screwdriver had been stolen. Well we went to the TARDIS and could see lots of clues. Have a look at the 23rd doctor's video message. We telephoned the police and they came to school, followed by the forensic officer who showed us all about fingerprints. We dressed up in suits and started collecting evidence. We spent the afternoon looking at our fingerprint patterns and then we received an email from the forensic officer who said that the fingerprint we had found was not human. The fingerprint had a QR code. Have a look! We unlocked the fingerprint as it led to a map which with the help of an augmented reality took us to the computer suite where there were links to the website of Mr Ed and some letters. We then spoke to our friends in Bryn Primary School who also had letters which we think are going to help us unlock the website. We cannot wait until tomorrow!
We are loving learning to code. We have been using different apps such as logo and Robot Friends and now we can not stop coding. We are having so much fun while still working on our problem solving and communication skills. Well done to Jenson today who won our 'Disgybl Yr Wythnos'. Llongyfarchiadau Jenson!
We had a great day today. We spent the morning researching all about 'The Planets' as Miss has been travelling to distant lands with the 23rd doctor we thought we should find out all we could. We used our excellent research skills to find the relevant information and started to collate it together using the iPads.
This afternoon we worked on our weaving technique by working on our loom fish designs. We had lots of fun but it is hard work to get the right pattern! We had a fantastic day today. We were working with Dosbarth Aur on some problem solving activities and started by creating different QR codes. It was fun to work with year 6. Then we were challenged to do some coding together. We used 'Robot Friend' and 'Daisy the Dinosaur' to begin to code. It was brilliant to try to code through the games. We had to think really hard and sequence the instructions together. We had to use programming skills, problem solving, reason and logic to work through the levels. Move over Apple developers, Cwmclydach coders are on their way!
