What a fabulous end to a half term. We have spent much time focusing on our local area and have created brochures, leaflets and posters to promote Cwmclydach.
This week we have been researching places of interest in our local area and have created keynote presentations to share our work with our peers.
We recorded our presentations and have shared them using Aurasma so that we can scan and watch them over and over again.
We planned routes around Cwmclydach based on places of interest we wished to share with Miss Lewis. We shared our ideas with the class and voted for the top 3 places to visit.
On Thursday afternoon we visited the Cambrian Wheel, The Top Lake and park. The children used the iPads to photograph interesting images based on their surroundings.
There were great discussions about our locality and the children used a variety of adjectives and adventurous vocabulary to describe what they could see and hear.
On returning to class we edited our images using iPhoto and used the selection of Images to create an iMovie to promote our local area.
These have been shared using Aurasma and displayed around our room for us to use.
In maths this week we have been learning about measuring using metres and centimetres. We have learnt to record these using metres only (using decimal points) and metres and centimetres.
We discussed the learning objective and created our own success criteria based on what we must, should and could do.
Everyone thoroughly enjoyed our hands on maths lessons where we measured our partners different body parts as well as how far they could jump. We created tables and charts to share our findings and enjoyed discussing the results using inequality sentences.
Have a wonderful half term break, keep safe and we look forward to seeing you all ready for learning on Monday June the 1st.
