Really enjoying our novel " The Boy in the Girls's bathroom", we have been introduced to the character Carla and how she is prepared to work with Bradley. She sounds very interesting and our Big writing this week will focus on writing a school report for Bradley incorporating Carla's views.
Today we have been working very hard with Sporting Marvels where we have learnt the story of Noah. We answered many questions and enjoyed re-enacting the story to the rest of the class. Through this story we have learnt to have confidence in ourselves and we now know how to resist peer pressure. We are now lloking forward to our PE lesson.
Dosbarth Aur have had a very interesting week. We composed personal profiles to put in our time capsule. On the way to find a suitable place to bury the time capsule, we stumbled upon a box with a variety of memorabilia in including old photographs, comics, stamps and cassette covers. The name on the box was Marie. We were all very excited and wanted to find out more about what era the memorabilia were from and why it was in Clydach Vale. After much searching and using the clues to assist us, we found out that the era was the 1960's. We were all so excited that we have decided to research in more detail this period of history. We are going to work in groups and research aspects of this part of the past that we find particularly interesting to ourselves. We love being researchers.
An exciting week in Dosbarth Aur. We began our topic "Living in our World" and are loving our new classroom environment. We have been working collaboratively on our new I pad's and Laptops and have been making great use of the write on tables and walls.
we have started reading the novel "The Boy in the Girls's bathroom" and it is really funny. Our first lesson with Sporting Marvels was fantastic. we all introduced ourselves and then did some group work on self esteem. The sun was also shining for our sports activities. Chelsea, Lewis and Lauren are a great team and we can't wait for next week. They are also really encouraging. Mrs Edwards is very pleased with all our hard work as we are all trying our very best. Next week, we are all going to celebrate the life of Roald Dahl by listening to the Puffin Live broadcast by the cast of Charlie and the Chocolate factory. Next week also sees the beginning of the rugby season with our first game on Thursday. More next week. The new term for Year 6 today begin with excitement. They were welcomed into a brand new classroom which has been refurbished during the Summer holidays. Year 6 are very fortunate to be housed in a "21st" century classroom with write on tables and walls, together with Apple TV.
