We have been working hard over the last few weeks transforming the play house in our yard into a garden centre. The children made lists of the things that they would like to have in their garden centre and we then set about finding the items we needed. A big thank you to all of you who brought in your own items from home to help complete our project! As part of our garden centre project we have been growing and caring for our own plants. First of all we planted our own tomato seeds and have been watching them as they grow. They are still quite small but a stem and leaves have now grown out of the seed and roots have grown into the soil. We have also been taking care of some Petunias which we hope will grow some beatuiful flowers and have planted a courgette plant and some herbs. We have learnt that the plants will need sun and water to grow and we are doing a great job at looking after them. Take a look at some of our pictures:
The children had lots of fun meeting PC Tiple last week. He told us lots of information abut his uniform and how the police and other emergency services are here to help us. He reminded the children of what number they would need to call in an emergency and helped them to think about which service they would require in different situations. The children had written questions to ask PC Tiple and they really enjoyed asking their questions and listening to the answers during his visit. PC Tiple brought lots of uniform in for the children to try on. Take a look at the slide show pictures below. |
