Our end of term production this year was called "Shakespeare Rocks". It was a really funny show and many of the boys were dressed as women and made everyone laugh. William Shakespeare was played by a boy in Year 6 and he had a lot of words to learn. We had great audiences every night and they all laughed loudly and really enjoyed the show. We had so much fun performing this.

Here is a selection of photos from our recent London visit to the Houses of parliament and the London Eye Last Tuesday was a very important day at Cwmclydach. We held a special Remembrance assembly at the school with Father Philip Lyshon of St. Thomas church leading the proceedings. The veterans of war also joined us for a very solemn occasion. Miss Howells and her class had compiled a very moving video which reminded us of why we remember. As we are remembering 100 years since World War 1, to make the day extra special, we all dressed up in war time costumes and held a street party in the hall following the special assembly.
A few weeks ago staff in Cwmclydach Primary school versed past pupils from our school. Of course the younger ones beat the staff!!!! It was an amazing match if you weren't,, there, you should have been there. You missed a great match. Mr Ryland was hogging the ball, Miss May was running like the wind, Mr Dacey was giving it his all, Mrs Edwards token the gaolie out straight away. At the end it was 7-1 to the past pupils but it doesn't matter who wins its the taking part that counts. And what's more we raised money to help repair the vandalism in the school during the Summer holidays.
This term we have been doing sport with sporting marvels. we have been working on basketball we have been practising dribbling bounce pass and chess pass there were many more. We do sporting marvels with Chelsea Lauren and Lewis.
Lots of fun, exciting activities for Dosbarth Aur in last two weeks. Year 6 took charge of the Macmillan coffee morning and showed visitors the new classrooms and use of the new technology in the school. The theatre production "Your Country Needs You" gave children a valuable insight into the history of the First World War and the re enactment of German and British soldiers exchanging gifts and playing football at Christmas was particularly moving. Last Friday afternoon a very successful music lesson was held with Mr Vaughan with children composing fantastic pieces. Sporting Marvels have been working hard with pupils teaching netball skills and the life of Joseph. Interactive group activities have been completed. The Mad Science assembly completed last weeks exciting activities where children learnt details of rockets and how they fly. Children are now looking forward to writing adventure stories this week. Great ideas on characters so far.
Really enjoying our novel " The Boy in the Girls's bathroom", we have been introduced to the character Carla and how she is prepared to work with Bradley. She sounds very interesting and our Big writing this week will focus on writing a school report for Bradley incorporating Carla's views.
