The folk dancing after school club today had a fantastic time in Tredegar House. The children represented the school in the festival. The sun shone, the children danced brilliantly and we had a great day full of smiles. Well done girls!
As part of the big writing today we created our own poems using noun phrases and alliteration. We had to work really hard as not only did we have to use alliteration but the words also had to be verbs! It took as a while to write our verses but we were very happy with the results. Here are a few snippets of some of the verses, what do you think? Playground Playground Dinner Hall School Assembly What fun we had today! Miss told us all about her friend Humpty Dumpty who wanted to go skydiving and she asked us to help. We had to decide what shape parachute he would need, the size of the parachute, the length of the string and what protection Humpty would need. We thought about the effect of gravity and decided the parachute had to be big because we needed as much air resistance as we could to slow him down. We had great fun making our parachutes, making sure Humpty was protected and then letting Humpty Dumpty go skydiving. We did tell him we thought it was a bad idea. Out of the nine parachutes two Humpty's survived :0) The others unfortunately ended like this!
Lots of great science going on in our class today. We looked at forces today especially pushes and pulls. We investigated where we could see pushes and pulls first. We then made a Venn Diagram of all the pushes and pulls we could think of. We came up with lots of brilliant forces. We then thought we would put some of the forces into action in our PE lesson. It was great as the sun was out so we enjoyed our games lesson out in the yard. We had pushes, pulls, gravity, air resistance and friction all in one lesson. Brilliant. We then used the iPads to complete our interactive poems using alliteration. We had great fun coming up with alliterated phrases and sentences. And, of course, we love using all the sounds and transitions for our presentation of our poems.
Well first day back and we are all enjoyed the sun today. Lots of brilliant work today. We watched the extended DVD of our Mystery week this morning. It was great to see all that we did and we used it to reflect on what we have learnt through the ICT project. We videoed our reflections and what we need do to next. In mathematics, we worked on number bonds to 100. We could find five different ways of trying to solve the bonds. Miss said we are getting really good at working out how to solve problems. In literacy today we worked on poetry and had lots of fun with alliteration. We had a competition to come up with the sentence with alliteration. Some of us came up with five instances of alliteration of the same letter. We can not wait until tomorrow. Lots of fun with art and music we hope!
