This week we went to visit Plantasia in Swansea. It was brilliant. The temperature was extremely hot and humid, as the sun shone very brightly as we walked around. We saw lots of varieties of plants, some of the trees and leaves were enormous. We could hardly believe our eyes! We were very excited to find the huge Kapok Tree. Our class are reading about the Kapok tree at the moment. There were Cotton Top Tamarin Monkeys, a Boa constrictor and Pirañas in the tanks. We read all the information signs ourselves and learned lots of new information, as we walked through the glass pyramid. Hidden in the leaves was a bamboo hut, very exciting. The Green macaw was huge, with beautiful, rainbow, coloured feathers. He was very funny showing us some of his tricks. We were lucky to see the Egyptian tortoises being fed, two fell into the bowl! Finally we enjoyed feeding the huge Carp fish. We had a fantastic day.
