As this year is the 100 year anniversary of the Great War, we have been learning about what life was like 100 years ago and what it was like fighting in the trenches. We have looked online to find first hand accounts of how terrible life was fighting in the battlefields of France and Belgium. We have looked at poems written about war like Dulce et Decorum est by Wilfred Owen, a harrowing account of a gas attack, and Charge of the Light Brigade by Lord Tennyson. We then used these to write our own senses poems about war.
