So this week was the week we had been waiting for.. Our school trip! We were off to @Bristol Science Centre for the day. But before that there was work to be done...
For Big Writing this week our task was to write a recount of our trip. When we thought about what we would need to make our writing the best it could be we decided to work on our use of connectives. Take a look at how we learned more about connectives and where to use them in our work.
The Beatles used the connectives to think about why we use them. They sorted these into categories and then recorded them in a table.
The Monkees and The Beach Boys used book creator on the IPad to create guides on what connectives are and how we can use them.
The Supremes used popplet on the IPad to create a mind map of connectives we can use in our work.
To finish the literacy session we played 'SPLAT' with connectives. We even discovered that we know some connectives in welsh too!
All of these were going to help us in our Big Writing on Friday.

We continued to look at Andy Warhol in our art session this week. We looked at his work with inanimate objects and discussed the colour wheel. This enabled us to createour own artwork in his style using contrasting colours and observational drawing.
And so it was time for the trip! We were so excited! There was so much there for us to see and do! We took part in a light and shadows workshop where we learned lots about how light travels, how shadows are made and how light can be broken down into a rainbow of colour! Take a look at the activities we took part in...
Time for a spot of lunch!
Onto investigating the centre... There was soooo much to see and do!
Mad Science were back this week! This time with a lesson all about rockets. There were lots of opportunities to take part and we learned lots about how rockets work.
The scientist told us that they will be running a Mad Science after school club! We cant wait to take part in all the weird and wonderful experiments and investigations!
