What a day!! We have been transformed into time detectives and certainly wouldn't look out of place on Time Team.. Watch out Tony Robinson! Take a peek at what has been happening...
We began our investigation this afternoon when Miss Phillips revealed that she had received some strange emails regarding where we should bury our time capsule. We had been filling the capsule with lots of different information about us since the beginning of term and we were eager to go out and bury it. This is what Miss Phillips had received...
We explained to Miss Phillips that this was a QR code and that we needed to use a QR code reader to find out what it was telling us. When we scanned the code we were taken to some strange numbers. They looked like this...
+51.626135 -3.475299
After much discussion and deliberation to what they may be we decided to go onto the next clue that Miss Phillips had been sent which was again a QR code. This one looked slightly different.

We went ahead and scanned the second code using a QR code reader. This time it took us to a page where we were able to input the previous numbers as longitudinal and latitudinal co-ordinates! Guess where ours took us...
We had our position for the capsule. Now it was off to bury it.
After a discussion we decided that we would try and find a spot where we didn't need to dig a hole. We thought that long grass would be better.
On our hunt for long grass we found an extremely suspicious parcel! We were very excited and incredibly eager to get it back to school where we could open it up and look inside, so we buried our time capsule in the grass and headed back indoors.

Back inside we came up with lots of ideas of what could be inside the box. Here are just a few.

We discovered that the box was full of pictures, photographs, stamps, comic strips and lots, lots more! We decided there was only one thing for it... RESEARCH!
We joined forces with Dosbarth Aur to begin the task of finding out who the box belonged to and what era it was from.

We spent the rest of the afternoon using the internet and our knowledge of our local area to find out exactly what the box was all about. It was hard work at times but we persevered, and by working as a team we all eventually found out something about our chosen clue!
To end the day we all got together to collate our findings. Take a look at what we found out.
We agreed on the fact that this box was indeed a time capsule from the 1960's! We think it may have belonged to a lady named Marie Wilcox but we need to do a little more research into that.
Our next challenge... To think of things that we would like to learn regarding the 1960's.
Feel free to comment with your suggestions.
Thanks for reading and we'll see you very soon :0)
