What a busy week we have had this week! From Roald Dahl to WW1 its all been happening in Dosbarth Arian! Read on to see some of the activities we have carried out this week.
Roald Dahl would have celebrated his birthday this week so we decided to take part in a live sing-a-long! There was even a part in which Sir Quentin Blake took us through how to draw Willy Wonka!
Tuesday this week was an extremely special day for our school. This was the day where the four lucky children who had been picked during our 'Why Remember' competition traveled to London.
It was an extra early start for us as the bus was leaving school at 6:30am! We all made it on time though and met our new friends at our school.
We traveled by bus and tube for four hours until we eventually got to the Tower of London. The sight was just amazing! The sea of red poppies stretched for what seemed like miles and it's only half finished! Once we'd had a quick look we were escorted into a board room. Here we had lunch before our big performance. The four children and Mr Dacey did our school extremely proud with their presentations of the three answers and there were people everywhere coming to congratulate them afterwards!
We were then very lucky to have the opportunity to enter the moat where the ceramic poppies are and take a closer look. It was very moving to think that each of those poppies represent a fallen soldier. It made us do a lot of thinking.
We had a great day at London and we know that we did Cwmclydach Primary School proud!

Take a look at our research on Roald Dahl... Did you know he loved to play pranks on his children? His favourite prank was to climb up to his childrens windows and scare them! Can you guess which book was inspired by this prank?
All of that research helped us immensely when doing our 'Big Writing' this week. We learned about biographies and wrote one all about Roald Dahl.
Apple TV helped us to keep our research on show throughout the morning.
